Rick Reed (Brew Master of Cricket Hill Brewery) is quite possibly one of the most passionate people I know when it comes to beer. Every Friday Rick opens his doors to the public for a free tasting of his finest beer. And of course, being a tour, he is legally obligated to give a plant tour speech. Well…Rick sometimes goes a little over board. Check out this video and you will see what I mean!!!

“Beer Growler Transport as Airline ‘Check Through’ Luggage” stars Disembodied Male Voice in his first major film role.
This video describes one method of packaging a standard 1/2 gallon (glass) growler of your favorite microbrewed beer to allow it to be safely ‘checked through’ as luggage on a commercial airline flight originating in the United States.
Disembodied Male Voice has had good luck with this method - having safely transported growlers of beer from his home base in South West Michigan (via commercial airlines) to Los Angeles and Brussels, Belgium - without spilling a drop!
NOTE: On the Los Angeles trip, the airline lost the cooler containing a growler of The Livery’s Double Paw IPA. It was eventually delivered to his hotel room (a day and a half late…) and the beer was still cool (temperature) and tasted great!
The moral of the story is: Disembodied Male Voice strongly recommends transporting more heartily flavored beers (Ales, etc) using this method as it is less likely that temperature changes will affect the beer’s flavor.

Is it hard to use? How good was the beer you made?
I never done it, but here's another idea: Mr. Beer sells home-brewing kits and leaves you to struggle with their directions and kits. Another way to find out about brewing is "Brew on Premises" (BOP) businesses. They provide you with recipes and ingredients of your choice, and you use their brew kettles, chillers, etc. When you're done, it ferments in their container, and you come back after a while to bottle, using their equipment.
You can go to beeradvocate.com (see link) and find out if there are any BOP places near you. WIth a little help from such a place, you can produce good brew and find out if you want to invest in equipment for doing it at home.
